To understand the journey of Thabo Sefolosha, we must talk first of all about his parents, Christina and Patrick Sefolosha.
Christine Sefolosha was born in 1955 in Montreux (Switzerland) where she lived during her childhood at La Tour-de-Peilz. She obtained her high school degree in the 70s where she met at the same time a veterinary doctor coming from South Africa and moved from to Switzerland. They got married together and their first child was named Christophe.
At the age of 20, seeking for some adventures and new discovers, she left Switzerland to go to South Africa with her husband and their first child.
Her wishes of disorientation will completely satisfy herself. In the heart of Johannesburg, she discovered not only a rich and fascinating culture in the human and natural side but also the terrible system of Apartheid. Indeed we were at the end of the 70s and the racial segregation will continue in this country around 10 years before being gradually abolished.
In the 80’s, she divorced the father of Christophe but met shortly after Patrick Sefolosha who’s an author-writer-inteprete and plays saxophone and percussions. He was one of the leaders of « The Malopoets » group.

The experience learned on the african continent will lead Christine Sefolosha to feel later on the needs to express herself as an artist.
Patrick and Christine got married in 1982. However, the apartheid system forbade mixed marriage in South Africa. Then they decided to move on in Switzerland, in the town where Christine lived her teenaged years.
Little time after was borned Kgomotso Sefolosha, on March 7th, 1983 previous the birth of Thabo, who was born on May 2nd, 1984 along the Lake of Geneva.
His first name « Thabo » means « the one who brings joy » and comes from the sotho dialect, a language which was spoken in the country where his parents got married.
Patrick and Christine broke up in 1993. Then Patrick and his new mate will give birth to a little girl, Dineo, in 1993, while Christine met Stephane, with whom she still lives today. Patrick is also the father of another girl, Mapule, who was born in 1978 and who lives in South Africa.
Despite that Christine and Patrick divorced while Thabo was young, he still considers that his parents were the greatest influence he could have in his life. They always cheer their children to live their dreams. He should certainly have this strong force that animates him from his parents, which makes him unique and allows him to defy some challenges that come between him and the achievement of his dreams.
