The last few months...

Hello everybody!

I'm writing you after few months of silence. I hope you're all doing well. I was really busy with my little daughter, Lesedi. All the family is doing great by the way.

First of all, I would like to thank all the participant of my Basketball Camp (Attendees, Organizers and Coachs). I spent again some great moments with you and I hope to see you next year. The last few months were rich in emotion.

I stayed 1 month in Chicago after the end of the season to get a personal training. I worked all the different aspect of my game, specially my shoot and some weightbearing exercises. The training sessions were intensive and I hope to be able to show that this season.

We came back with the entire family (Bertille, Lesedi and me) to Switzerland. I had two weeks to rest a little bit, spend some times with my friends and family before starting my Basketball Camp. After the Camp, I flew down to South Africa with my father. That’s where I’m coming from also and I was pretty excited about this trip. We spent the first week with my grandmother in Pretoria. I didn’t visit them since 2005 so it was great to be back at home and meet everybody, my grandmother, my oncles, my aunts and all my cousins.

Then, the second week was a basketball Camp (Yeah again... ) organized by the NBA named “Basketball Without Borders” in Johannesbourg. I was invited with Shareef Abdur-Rahim (Sacramento Kings), Dikembe Mutumbo (Houston Rockets), Caron Butler (Washington Wizards), Nick Collison (OKC), and Jennifer Azzi (WNBA Ambassador). This camp is giving the chance to young African talents to stand out in front of some High School or University coachs and play next to some NBA Players. It was a great experience and I hope to be able to come back next year.

After that, my father flew back to Switzerland and I did the same to Chicago where Bertille and Lesedi were waiting for me. I started with some training sessions as soon as I was back in town. I worked on my shoots, body-building and I ran a lot to be in good shape for the season. Then, we had the training camp, the pre-season games and the new season started at the end of October!

We have made a better start this season comparing to last year. Derrick Rose, the 1st pick in the Draft, has already showed us what he can bring to the team (Derrick Rose Vidéo). He already made us win some important games. It was a really good pick from Chicago and he has a lot of potential. In top of that, he is really down to earth.

Personnally, I started the season in the starting line-up and it was really good. But now that Larry Hughes is back from his injury, there is a lot of competition to play as a guard-forward (Larry Hughes, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich when he will be back). It’s hard sometimes to accept this situation because we all want to play and be part of this team. I’m living this situation day by day and we’ll see what the future brings.

Again, thank you for all your supports! See you soon!

Thabo
